5 out of 5 stars GREAT BOOK - Very thorough   September 1, 2010
G Edgell (Lancaster, PA)
I have been researching menopause over the last 3 years and have Dr. Lee's information to be technical, yet necessary to fully understand with is going on in woman's body at this time of her life. There is so much confusion and mis-information out there. It is nice to know that there a resource this comprehensive for women. Other great sites that I have found to be helpful are [...] and Dr. Northrup's site.

5 out of 5 stars A great addition to my health library   June 30, 2010
D. P. Taylor (East Coast, USA)
I have been really trying to get a handle on my hormones since discovering that I not only have secondary adrenal insufficiency and autoimmune hypothyroidism, but am deficient in all of my sex hormones. I read Uzzi Reiss's book and then Dr. Lee's, and have learned a LOT of information I never knew. However, I also discovered that I need to optimize my adrenals and thyroid before I mess with my sex hormones, so I'm going to wait a bit before implementing the advice given here.

I also think that while Dr. Lee is very respected for his vast knowledge, I need to remember that not every woman will respond the same way to treatment. As he recommends so often in the book, each of us needs to learn about and listen to her body, and this is even more important when balancing hormones.

2 out of 5 stars Not for the normal women going through Menopause   April 16, 2010

I thought this book would give me practical ways to handle this very emotional time in my life; however, it is a more clinical view of why Menopause occurs. I really don't care to know the biological reasons of why it happens; just give me plain words of advice to get me through it. This was not the book for me.

4 out of 5 stars This is a good book for woman   March 23, 2010
Brenda S. Nickerson
I purchased this book because I thought I could find information that would help me personally with PMS. I am 46 and have tested not pre-menopausal but thought it could give me insight if progesterone creams could help with PMS (I saw this book reference in a different book that said it was also a good read for woman who were not yet pre-menopausol, or in menopause. I did not get any helpful information about PMS - but will keep the book because there is much information that will be helpful in the future I am sure.
