5 out of 5 stars Life-changing in many ways   April 11, 2010

I developed chronic sinusitus at age 50, temporarily losing significant hearing in one ear, and after six months of no results from standard medical remedies and facing corrective surgery that had uneven results, I began looking into other ways of resolving this. I stumbled onto this book of Dr. Blaylock's, liked what I read, and began testing out some of his suggestions. A year and a half later, my sinus problems are nearly all gone, hearing is normal, I've lost 30 lbs, heart rate has improved from 127/90 down to 115/70.

I can't pretend to follow all the biochemistry. (His credentials in this area are sufficient for me.) I just know that what he suggests works. He has improved my life and my family's life, and we are profoundly grateful. Do yourself a favor: read this book and act on it.

5 out of 5 stars A gem   March 19, 2010

This book is a treasure. I skipped some parts, but every doctor (doctors may enjoy it a lot less because of his criticisms of doctors and especially the medical industry) and patient should read it.

He actually wants to teach a lot in this book, and a lot of it is at the level of say a college freshman textbook, but focusing on the essentials. Or you can skip to the back of some chapters and see what supplements he recommends.

There are some similarities with Perlmutter's "The Better Brain Book." I feel like I trust Blaylock more, but Perlmutter covers some important issues that Blaylock leaves out. Blaylock's "Excitotoxins: the Taste that Kills" is also essential reading.
